Made-to-Order & Lead Times
The items listed for sale on this website (www.epitomehome.com) are generally artisanal and made-to-order. This means they are only produced once you request it via your order and payment. Variations in material, finish, color, etc., are to be expected (and celebrated!) due the nature of our product assortment.
With made-to-order products come lead times. This means that many of the products listed on this site are not kept in inventory and must be manufactured at your request. The lead times are generally posted in the item description and are meant to be quotes, not exact delivery dates.
If you’re uncertain as to whether an item you’re interested in is made-to-order, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the item name and description.
Generally, our vendors will start production on your made-to-order product within two business days. If you would like to amend or cancel an order, please let us know as soon as possible so we may pass the information on to our manufacturer.
Returns, Exchanges, & Cancellations
Since most of the items on our website are custom and/or made-to-order, we generally do not accept returns. Occasionally, exceptions will be made depending on circumstance. If you would like to return an item, please e-mail the reason to email@example.com for consideration. In the few cases where a return is accepted, a Return Authorization (RA) is required to be signed by Epitome Home, and you will likely pay a 15% restocking fee.
If you are shipped a damaged product, it will be replaced for a new version of the same item by the maker.
If you place an order and would like to cancel it, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 24 hours of placing your order. Sometimes cancellations are not possible if your order is already in production. We will do our best to cancel orders with our vendors if they are submitted in a timely fashion.
If you receive a defective item and it cannot be returned for whatever reason, you will receive store credit in the amount of the sale and can use this on an exchange.
We reserve the right to cancel orders if we cannot deliver your order; this could happen if our vendors runs out of stock, if an item is discontinued, if we cannot deliver to your address for whatever reason, or if there was an error in pricing that cannot be reasonably resolved.
Since our items are shipped directly from the manufacturers in most cases, and many are made-to-order, if you order multiple items they will likely arrive in multiple shipments directly from their makers.
We will always do our best to deliver your order as quickly and easily as possible. However, since our items are shipped directly to our customers from our manufacturers, occasionally events can occur which affect delivery times (such as production issues, material availabilities, personal hardship on behalf of an artist, etc). We will notify you of any such event as soon as possible, and will do our best to keep you happy as our customer! We are not liable for delivery problems that are outside of our control.
If you fail to provide proper delivery information and items are returned to us or to our vendor as undeliverable, you are still responsible for payment. There may be redirect charges for changes in shipping address.
If you do not receive your order in the specified time, please let us know by sending us an e-mail at email@example.com.
All our shipments are sent with signature required. If your item is oversized, a freight line company may be arranged for delivery; in such cases, a representative from the freight company will call and set up delivery. This agreement is between you and the freight company; if you fail to be present at the agreed-upon time, you are responsible for the cost of that delivery attempt.
It is your responsibility to be present for the delivery and to examine your packages to ensure you have received the correct order/items in good condition prior to signing for the package. If you fail to do this and receive a damaged item, we require that you let us know within five (5) business days so we may correct the error with our vendor. If you receive a shipment with concealed/not obvious damage, we require that you let us know within 48 hours. If you fail to do this, you are responsible for the damages and the item will not be replaced. We will require photographic evidence of damages during shipment, as this is required of us to open a case with the shipper. If an item arrives with small damage due to shipment, we will communicate with our vendor and send a repair person to fix the damage; this is especially the case with broken glass, mirrored items, or any item with an inlay that is easily replaced. These will not be considered defective products. Our vendors/manufactures reserve the right to repair the item on site as quickly as possible.
If you receive a shipment with obvious freight damage, you must refuse the shipment at the time of delivery, note the damage, take photographs if possible, and e-mail all to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you or a person acting on your behalf signs for a damaged shipment, you are accepting responsibility for the state of the item and must open your own case with the shipper.
Please note that all screens show color differently; we do our best to provide true-to-life photography, and your items should arrive as expected, but some slight variations can be expected especially with handmade products.
We will not accept any liability for damaged goods and will do our best to rectify any such situation with our vendor on your behalf.
We will not be liable to you for any delay in shipment or failure to deliver your order when it is delayed or unable to be delivered due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control such as fire, flood, natural disasters, strikes, accidents, etc.
Privacy & Security
We will not share your information with anyone for any reason.
When you are checking out and proceed to payment, please ensure you are re-directed to Stripe’s secured payment system. The address bar should begin with https://, and you should see a padlock symbol. If is your responsibility to check that these features appear.
Pricing, Payments & Tax
We price match! If you find an item listed on our site listed publicly elsewhere for less, please let us know my e-mailing email@example.com and we will match the price for you if possible. The price match may not be combined with other promotions.
We do our best to ensure correct listing of prices on our site, but occasionally something may have changed with one of our vendors without our knowledge. For this reason, after your order is placed, we will confirm pricing with our vendor the next business day. Should there be any unexpected changes, we will notify you via e-mail.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. We do not accept checks. Occasionally, with larger orders, we will accept a wire transfer of funds – please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to pay this way.
Epitome Home collects tax based on your state’s rates.
If you do not receive an e-mail confirming your order within 48 hours of your order, please contact us immediately at email@example.com. It is possible we did not receive your order and it is not being processed.
Once you receive your order confirmation, please confirm all items for accuracy. If you have any corrections, please notify us immediately. Changes to an order generally cannot be made after 24 hours.
Epitome Home is currently only accepting orders within the Continental United States. Some exceptions may be made with customers in Alaska and Hawaii. Hey Hawaiians and Alaskans – please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a special order!
We occasionally offer promotional discount codes. These may only be used by you once, and generally not in combination with other offers or sales. Any returns or exchanges on items ordered with a promotional code will be given the full price back minus the amount of the discount.
Epitome Home does not provide warranties on any of the products listed on its site, as we do not manufacture the products. Some products come with a manufacturer’s warranty.
We reserve the right to make changes to our Terms & Conditions. The most up-to-date version of these conditions will be posted to our site; it is your responsibility to check and understand the conditions.
Any content made available on our site or blog may not be used without our explicit, written permission. This includes but is not limited to text, photography, videos, product names, catch phrases or coined terms, and any other content. The content of this site is meant to be used as an online shopping resource; the reproduction, modification, distribution, transmission, or re-publication of the content on this site is strictly prohibited. If you violate these terms, we reserve the right to seek and claim damages against you in accordance with US and International Copyright Law.
If one part of these Terms & Conditions is unenforceable, the enforceability of any other part of these Terms & Conditions will not be affected.
